In Q3 2022, big data recruitment in the global pharmaceutical industry fell by 0.67%

The global pharmaceutical industry experienced 0.67% rise in new job postings related to big data in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics. This compares with a 0.67% rise in the previous quarter, and a 15% increase over Q3 2021.

Notably, General and Operations Managers jobs accounted for an 8% share of the global pharmaceutical industry’s big data-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 0.37% over the prior quarter.

Big data-related hiring activity is driven by Operations and General Managers

General and Operations managers, who have a share of 8.8%, were the top big-data-related jobs in the pharmaceutical sector in Q3 2022. Quarter-on-quarter, new job postings increased by 0.37%. With a share at 7%, Software and Web Developers and Programmers came in second. New job postings increased by 10% in the third quarter.

Other prominent roles in big data include Biological Scientists, who have a 6% share of Q3 2022’s job postings, and Database and Network Administrators and Architects, who each have a 3% share.

Top five pharmaceutical companies accounted for 2% in hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Evolent Health , Johnson & Johnson, Intermountain Healthcare and Hastings Center. They collectively accounted to 2% of all bigdata-related jobs in the pharmaceutical sector.

Evolent Health posted 2,137 jobs in Q3 2022 and registered a rise of 18% over the previous quarter, followed by Johnson & Johnson with 1,404 jobs and a 4% drop. Intermountain Healthcare, with 1,328 jobs, and Hastings Center, with 935 jobs, saw 0.3% growth and a 9.9% decrease, respectively. CVS Health, however, experienced a 4% drop with 804 job openings in Q3 2022.

The US accounted for 78% of all active job postings in Q3 2022, driving hiring activity

The US had 78% of the largest number of new jobs in big data in the pharmaceutical industry, followed by India (4%) or the UK (3%) in Q3 2022. The US accounted for 3% more than the 75% it held in Q2 2022.
