The Jikji is the oldest machine-printed book in the world, and it’s on display in Paris




The oldest mechanically printed work, a Korean manuscript that predates European printing by decades, will be on show in Paris for 50 years. The “Jikji”, a collection of Buddhist teachings, was printed in 1377, some 78 years before Johannes Gutenberg produced his famous Bible using his printing press in Germany.
