It is once again Sunday, which means it is time for the week’s top 5 3D printing videos! 3Dnatives first visits Stratasys HQ in Israel, as part of Inside 3D Tour series. A 3D printed meat item is being offered by a Barcelona restaurant, which is also helping to promote the use of additive manufacturing. Another example is a mask that is used for severe burn victims in order to aid their recovery. Then, the Matsuura Open House, an event that showcases the latest innovations in the 3D printing industry, was recently held at their additive manufacturing facility in Coalville, followed by WAAM3D Ltd, presenting the company’s latest large format metal 3D printer, the RoboWAAM. Also featured is a conversation with Ron Scherf, the VP of Healthcare and Consumer R&D, about the newest innovations at one of their PolyJet technology labs and Koren Matalon, the VP of Global Operations, in their production site located in Kiryat Gat. A new vegan meat dish is now available in Spain for those who love to eat meat but are also concerned with the environment. Giuseppe Scionti, a bioengineer and Josep Sanitjas, a carnivore, have created a 3D printed steak that is said to be as tasty as the real deal. El Santuari near Barcelona is serving the steak, which has been praised for its exotic meats, including wagyu, Zebra and Crocodile. Scionti’s and Sanitjas’ creation promises to revolutionize the meat industry.



Top 3: Treating Children’s Severe Burns with 3D Printed Face Masks

Few things in life are more painful than a child who has suffered a severe trauma. Romans Ferrari is one of the most suitable places to recover in such situations. This French pediatric rehabilitation center near Lyon specializes in treating children who have suffered from trauma, brain injury, brain tumours, polytrauma and severe burns. Romans Ferrari’s extensive experience includes treating severe facial injuries with compressive masks. These masks reduce the risks of scarring and complications. The traditional way of making these masks was uncomfortable and could cause post-traumatic disorder in children. In this video, we will explore Romans Ferrari’s new digital workflow, which uses 3D scanning and printing to create compressive masks that can be used for facial burns. This innovation was made possible by a team of doctors and engineers.

Top 5: WAAM3D’s Newest Large Format Metal 3D Printer

Dr. Filomeno Martina, the CEO and co-founder of WAAM3D Ltd, presents the company’s latest large format metal 3D printer, RoboWAAM. WAAM3D was founded by a Cranfield University team of researchers. It has developed a large format 3D printing system for metal that is capable of creating multi-metre parts. This can be used in aerospace, defence and oil and gas sectors. The company has already established itself as a leader in large-scale metal additive manufacturing due to its extensive research on Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM®) since 2006. RoboWAAM is a new platform that significantly expands the possibilities for large format metal additive printing. Hardware won the TCT Award 2022 in the Non Polymer Category.
