Marfa Texas opens the World’s First 3D printed Hotel next Year

Marfa in Texas is set to get even more futuristic.

In partnership with ICON, which is a startup that has already signed a NASA contract to build the first accommodation and dwellings on Mars and moon. Liz Lambert, a hotelier, just announced a new project to reconstruct El Cosmico, a glamping site, using 3D-printing technology.

El Cosmico currently covers 21 acres. It will be reimagined as large-scale 3D-printed sunday homes and other structures, including domes and arches.

Lambert stated in a statement that collaborating with the innovative thinkers at BIG & ICON will allow me to realize this dream. “We also get to use this amazing 3D printing technology that marries ancient principles of building from raw earth with a futuristic technology which works more efficiently, sustainably, and quickly than modern construction.” “Moreover, the beauty and innovation of the structures we can create goes far beyond the box.”

The hotel will combine Marfa’s desert landscape with cutting-edge technology and visionary work of cosmic organizations. This space, with its modern organic curves & domes, will focus on elevating El Cosmico into a more design-centric sustainable location.

El Cosmico will open its doors in 2024 with its BIG-designed two, three, and four-bedroom homes. These homes offer breathtaking views of the Davis Mountains. The new 3D-printed design marvel will be available for reservations in the summer of 2023.

Register on the hotel website to receive updates about when reservations are open and how to reserve your El Cosmico spot.
