Bridgewater Native Opens Unique, Creative 3D-Printing Studio

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater native and Flemington mother of three, Jessica Wallace, has always been crafty.

Wallace stated that she needed to be involved in creating and doing things and was drawn back into the art studio industry.

In 2017, she opened Chirp Workshop, Flemington. This was a studio that offered craft classes for both children and adults. In late 2019, she sold the workshop. She was inspired by her love of art and the creation of things to start a new business.

Wallace will now open The 3D Lab at 160 Main St. in Flemington, Building B, Unit 8.

The Lab is open to all guests. They can create small-build prints for free. The first guests will receive giveaways, a station for temporary tattoos, and the chance to win a free birthday party. Light snacks and sweets may be enjoyed.

Wallace said, “I love children, I love art and I love creating things… The whole idea just took off.”

Victor, her 10-year old son, was the inspiration for her new concept for The 3D Lab. He received a 3D printer as a Christmas gift.

She was amazed at how creative and fun this printer was, so she decided to convert it into a studio suitable for older children, teens and tweens.

Wallace said, “It’s kid friendly and the whole idea centers around 3D printers.”

Each child will receive a 3D printer that is kid-friendly and an iPad with a print catalog. The kids can make whatever they like.

The item is being printed, but the kids can still play freely with the 3D pen and create whatever they want.

Wallace said, “The sky’s the limit with their imagination.”

Wallace will host workshops throughout each year that are centered on a particular theme, such as Easter or St. Patrick’s Day.

Drop-ins and birthday parties are also welcome. She hopes to host weekly series that teach children about the printer, and other topics.
